the 4G63 in the evo has been used for....what is it? almost 2 decades now? I mean obviously the one in the evo is different than in old DSMs but these engines are awesome. The 4G94 in the lancer....isn't anything special. Im not saying it's crap...i had a 2003 OZ before the evo and I know what you can do with that engine. With some work you can make good power.

been folowing this thread for awhile now, decited to post my opinion on whats wrong with RA Lancer and what to change to make 1 sick car..
unlike OZ/ES Lancers we get a good engine 4G69 with MiVec...
i had dynoed in Canada at 147hp/155TQ stock...
Problems/ Recomedations for a MUST parts
1. Car is suffocating...in 1 place on exhaust it goes down to 3/4"x 4" squished pipe.
when doing the exhaust go to 2 1/"2 from start in case you want to turbo later...
its not to big for N/A.
2. CAI helps huge. get a 2 piece set up so you can make it into a short ram for fall/winter rain/snow.
3. Underdrive pulley a must. (currently gained 12hp/13TQ from stock with pulley/CAI)
4. Intake manifold port/polish .
5. Exhaust manifold to help with heat.
6. Aluminium flywheel.
7. Lower vehicle by either going to coilovers(prefered) or lowered springs.
8. Bigger anti-sway bars.
9. Rear strut bar
10. Bigger throtle body.
11. LSD
Possible mods..not nessesary...depends what you want to have done at the end.
this is where its starting to get expansive,,,,
12. Walbro fuel .
13. Higher compression pistons.
14. Better rods
15. Might aswell do a overbore while the pistons are out.
16. Port and Polish the head.
17. Injectors
Should be around 210-225 whp around here...
turbo from here now that your motor is ready run around 11-15PSI and you have 1 hell of the street/drag/autocross killer.
AND now for the finalle...you done 20k worth of mods...should have bought an EVO>...hahahahha

i regret getting my lancer tho... coulda spend the same amount on a used subby... a good 2.5rs or a high mileage bug-eye...

well if you invest a good 2,000 on the car it will defenitly be much faster than stock and migth be able to take a ralliart

with intake,header,pulley,piggy , cat back exaust,intake manifold, throttle body,highflow cat and good tuning
your set for a good 135 whp 140 wtq
