Angry who was the accolade evo7 conversion?

i got a question actually, i have it painted, installed, yada yada, the hood wont close, it'll latch, but not click, it looks like its hitting the grill piece of the front bumper, but ive heard in many cases the latch had to be bent to make the hood shut, so at the body shop it wouldnt shut, they bent the latch, and poof! it shut, i get it home, pop the hood, go to shut up, yeah, totally wont shut, any hints? ideas?

pm Kid Lancer 7. we were @ my place and he got it to shut. you should also add some washers to the bolts that hold the latch to the radiator frame.

I had the same problem with mine especially since i used the same mounting brackets from the original bumper. I had the body shop I went to raise the locking mechanism to its highest setting but that still didn't work. I took it to another shop and they moved the actual metal latch on the underside of the hood downward by unscrewing it a little and placing 4 thin washers on each corner. The hood closes but it's still a little tight. Trouble is that if you move that too far down, the hood won't line up with the fenders.

Hey I'm thinking about buying Accolade's Evo VII front end kit too. According to RRM in order to swap bumpers you have to modify some bracket on the front of the car. You guys know anything about that? Is it something just anyone can do or is it something that requires cutting and welding and so on?

For RRM's kit you do b/c it is a JDM bumper. The accolade kit is USDM and fits over the US crash bar with no cutting and no mods.

I bent the metal piece hanging down on mine and VOILA! works great. I've got hood pins that too but I'm afraid of drilling my pretty hood.

This is Chris's (red demons) brother Nicholas on his account. I bought a identical kit for my lancer and only ONE of the pieces fit without any modification or problems

Accolade....you get what you pay for!

you are DAMN lucky the only problem you had (or stated) was the hood....

Look at AMS's "evo9" bumper they got from accolade, such a horrible fitment and insane crappy quality that they made the thing into a COFFEE TABLE in thier dynoroom!

I saw scrap the kit, sell it to someone else and buy some quality parts
