Question Got a CEL P421

I built a heat shield for my intake on thursday, and last night my CEL came on, i took it to Autozone, and had them pull the code which was:

P421

I had this same code when i first put my actual intake on, but i reset the ECU and it went away. I don't want to reset the ECU again, incase there is actually something wrong.

Anyone have any ideas?

thanks

also as a side note. Autozone are about as helpful as a blind, seeing eye dog.

P0421 Warm Up Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)

brokeazzlos is right, there's a TSB for this code and they will fix it for free regardless of your mods. I suggest searching for this on the forum. As far as I remember people had a lot of problems after Mitsu 'fixed' that code.

they shouldnt, they know they got a problem, so more than likely it will not matter.
I worked for mitsu I did many of them with cars with intakes

the cat is bad.
mitsu will reflash your PCM and replace the cat.
you shouldnt reset the light, mitsu has to see it on for them to replace it.

If we were still doing Gurus, I think Greg might be approaching that status.
