As for the fluid for power-steering, it ran me about 2-3 dollars a bottle. All dealers are different, but it should not be no more than 5.

As for Tranny Fluid, I'm not sure...

Clear Power steering fluid is compatible with either ATF or "Power Steering Fluid"(clear) PS Pumps.

Meaning, you can put the clear stuff into a ATF PS system, but you cant put ATF into the clear fluid PS system- Youll more then likly ruin seals. But I'd try to keep it all one fluid anyhow.

Anyone know what the gear oil cost per quart from the dealer for us manual guys =P? My 99 VW was 45.99 a ****ing quart for gear oil, ****in bent me over. Good thing I do all my labor =O

My garage only stocks clear fluid, not a bad pump or rack has come back yet been working there for 2 years

Edit: Maybe he dident relize and put brake fluid in- or something. That **** will swell up and ruin seals, vice versa you put Power Steering fluid in the Master Brake Cylinder, I just worked on a car that the lady had brought her car to a Speedy for an oil change and they put PS fluid in her MAster Cylinder, Swelled the seal on the cap and lines it was leaking like a siv, needed a new cylinder, probley gotta put all new calipers on it tommorow.

Like I said we only stock clear fluid, it works with both, BUT when we do flushes if it calls for ATF, we do ATF(for the fact the the flush kits come with conditioners for the seals, and ones made to work with ATF, the other with PS fluid)
