OK people i have done it. I removed the front rollers. I took some pics so here take a look. Took 5 mins with a 12mm socket and there is only 2 bolts to each roller.

This is one of the rollers

Thats still pretty good. That almost equals a carbon fiber hood.

theres really lots you can do. my car for instance weighs just under 2200lbs. stock theyre just over 2600 so you do the math. take a look at my cars profile. i think i have a list of everything ive removed. plus you have to take into account the fiberglass parts and the fact that my wheels only weigh 11lbs.

See i just wanted to lose 50 pounds or so. Ight well i just removed the Rollers thats 15lb i will take out the Spire Tire that should be another 10lb, The Runk Liner that should be 5lb and i'm planning on getting a mini battery they only weigh 10lb so that will be off like 30 - 40 pounds saved.

The catalytic convertor actually weighs quite a bit as well..but replacing them with a straight pipe will make your car pretty illegal..

Wheels make a very big difference too. Lightweight and strong wheels will definitely lose some weight. If you still have those steelies, this is especially true.

So does anyone actually know what those roller thingys are for?

no, what theyre for is if you ever drive over something like a rock or something fairly large, they push whatever it is under the car and away from the radiator.

They can't be a crash bar because they are under the bumper not infront of it.

This seems useful if your car is really low and tend to run over objects.

blingo FTW : http://www.tprmag.com/issue/16/light_club.shtml

in their fantasy 350Z a 200# reduction in weight nets about 17.7hp. The gear ratios are around here somewhere and you'd need to look in the NA dyno lists to find approx what you should be putting to the wheels.

The actual trunk lining has some weight to it, too. I've never had a good explanation for the front roller thingys and I've heard all of them
