Weight Reduction
Ok. I just thought they helped absorb some of the impact if you were to hit something head on. That was my reasoning behind thinking they were the crash bars. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
Ight well i have been looking at Mini Battery's and they only weigh 15lb when the stock Battery weighs 37lb. I just need to figure out how to mount it i want to keep in under the hood. I can now also run a CAI if i decide to.

Also, Reducing weight by 100 lbs./50 kgs will increase the fuel efficiency of a vehicle by 1%. (Learned that in the U.S. ARMY. Kudos to uncle sam
Takeing off those rollers was a great idea. Good start in your weight reduction journey.

these are all good ideas, but i do have one concern.....
why get a mini battery? i know for the weight savings ( 10-15 lb. vs. 30 lb. ) but in my mind wouldn't it be better to keep the stock battery under the hood? You're basically removing weight from the front wheels. Hence, you're removing traction ...That's why i've decided against a c/f hood. My experience comes from racing Import class in NHRA division 1 last year and i did everything to my car to save weight. ( with the exception of removing those roller thingys - good idea )
espcially moving the battery to the trunk i just don't know why you would do that. I mean you're already saving 15 lbs. by removing those rollers so why take another 15 pounds off the front end?
just my .02
