Weight Reduction

I did a search and didn't really find anything but i wanted to know some tips or secrets about the lancer and what kind of Weight you could skim off but keep the car functional. I keep hearing about these Front Bumper Absorbers that weigh a ton and people are taking them off i just can't figure out were and how. I know a couple other basic reduction such as the spire tire and ect...

Diet and exercise are an effective way to reduce weight. And aftermarket hood and trunk.

best bet is to loose weight yourself. anything other than those front bumper things may become non-practical eg. spare tire, if your not racing it, its not worth it. and carbon fibre parts are gonna be pricey, unless you have the money to spend your better of spending money on performance upgrades than lighter car parts. it will make more of a difference

if you go to a track though, just do all the above, strip it bare. all you need is an engine, 1 seat , wheels and a chassis. lol

yeh that is pretty light. well are you wanting to loose car weight for the track or just day to day driving. Cos for the track you can completely dismantle your car, anything you dont use, toss it, even if it seems light, cos the combined weight loss will help.

but day to day driving, like i said, is prob not worth it, esspecially if you run over a nail or sumthing

if your not takin it to the track than just look at things like those rollers, i dunno how to take em off though. find things that wont effect practicallity. otherwise you will only end up putting them back on later after a few weeks of not being able to do stuff, like pick your friends up. lol

Every thing mentioned above, and smaller light weight rims will help aswell.

When you go to the track strip the car, I mean if your really time hungry youll do it with motivation but if you dont go to the tracks often dont waste your time stripping the car and at the end putting everything back together.

I can tell you from experience though when I owned a dodge neon r/t I took off anything I could think of just to get a better run time. And it worked.
