^^^Ever did research in how to break-in the new rings and such... From my own turbo related research I can across how being "nice" to it could have a worse affect than not. Be hard on it, but not with high psi to begin with. It'll set those rings better... Wish I still had the link to post; but the favorites erase after you fry a hard drive ! But yeah, the IM & TB will let you obviously get the full advantage of the P&P. I have yet to through on my P&P head on my Sohc Civic. Though gains wouls still be minally seeing I'm only N/A still.

I think I saw the same thing about being hard on the break in period. I'll look into it more though. Thanks.

Well I got the head back today, got some pics, I don't know when I will get them posted, but they will be posted.
Had a little setback though. My Dad and I went to put on the rocker arm assy's and one of the lash adjusters fell out and the seal around it broke and the damn thing came apart. Now I have to go to the dealer and get some new ones. Well, other than than everything is coming together nicely. Timing is set and most of accessories are installed, including the T/C. Well I'll keep you guys posted. Damn rottenfrikkinluck....

When I got my pistons installed (along with new valves) the mechanic told me to not treat the engine like crap, but to not be afraid to get on it every once in a while.

^^^Yeah, don't boost the crap out of it. Start around 4 to 5; then move on up say every 2 weeks? Just an idea...

I understand money is an issue but doesn't it make sense to install the IM and TB while the engine was out...would make your life so much easier and also allow you perform all your tuning at once cause once the new TB and IM go on won't that affect air flow which in turn would affect your a/f and/or tuning?

so your new forged pistons can generate/hold how many HP? did you put on the lightened flywheel also? what cams?

For new cars you don't romp on them because the drivetrain hasn't had a chance to settle. If you clutch dump a new car then you run the risk of hurting the clutch, tranny, axles, and the engine. On a rebuild I've heard you're supposed to start driving it as hard as you expect you'll ever drive it to get maximum ring seating.

Well the issue with money is basically looked at from this perspective: I had major blow by and loss of compression due to severly damaged pistons. I needed to replace them ASAP.
The IM and TB can wait just awhile longer I believe.
A mans gotta eat and pay rent you know?

Hey Alchemist thanks for the link. That was the same one I read awhile back. I had forgotten completely about it. Man, its makin me think. There is a lot riding on making a choice between easy break in and hard break in. I'm going to be making a thorough search on the web. Thanks again
