Engine rebuild time

As some of you might now and for those who don't, I detonated badly this past january. My engine survived but was losing compression. I have been saving since then and babying my car.
Well the time to rebuild is now and most of it is already under way. I am replacing the rods and pistons as well as having a port and polish done to the head. Also the usual stuff well be replaced, timing belt, accessories belt, and a bunch of seals, stuff like that.
I hope to have pics up later tonight. I'll keep yall posted.

P.S. I just wanna give some thanks to Hobie and Comatose for helping out with the stuff I needed. Thanks again guys

Pistons and rods installed. Just waiting for the head to come back from the shop. I'll be powder coating my valve cover also in a minute. Hopefully that turns out good
After I get the head back all that will be left is to install it, install the oil pan, and set the timing. Of course hook all the lines and stuff up. Man I can't wait to fire her up again.

Not 20, just 9. I had an exhaust leak that I didn't take very good care of and I was coming to the end of a very long road trip. Basically I had to pass up a car to exit, but the A-hole figured racing me would be better. In my stupidity, I obliged him, hammered the gas, blew his doors off (Mustang by the way) reached about 120mph made my exit. Thing is the moment I made my exit, I heard a "boompf!" come from the engine.
Basically I had a bad air/fuel ratio going on, plus the heat and I might as well throw in the high altitude of Alabamas mountain areas, where I happened to be traveling, plus weak pistons all probably contributed to my severe detonation. Oh yeah, I shouldn't forget my 200lb lead foot that day either I really shouldn't have raced him, but I am glad I am changing my guts out anyway.
