sponsor
Many places have an application process. Other places you have to contact them and prove that you're serious. You'll need some proof of performance, either by going through the show circuit or participating in a race season.
From personal experience, here are a few points about sponsorships:
- They are hard to get unless you know someone or are highly visible.
- Sponsorships are given on the basis that your vehicle will drive more sales than the worth of whatever they gave you usually by at least 10 fold. And they won't take your word for it.
- Most sponsorships are not free but rather good wholesale pricing. It far easier to just get wholesale pricing on your own
- Most times, sponsorships are not worth the hassle or time spent aquireing them
^Exactly, you have the earn a sponsorship, you don't just get given one because you really want it. I think Warrtalon is sponsored but that's because he has proven himself a capable driver and a serious racer.

Exactly. Road/Race does sponsorships, as well, but sparingly. I've only seen them go out to cars that are either regular racers (a Ralliart in the SCCA) and for a show car. They may have more that I don't know about, but they're definitely not common.
