personally from when i had my lancer sri didnt increase my hp. if it did it was about 1 hp. but it does keep your torque powerband going longer. example: stock your car reaches max torque of 130 at about 3,500 rpms, and it tapers off around 4,200 rpms. with the sri max torque will kick in around 3,200 rpms, and taper of around 4,800 rpms.

this is all just from the top of my head and from how i felt my car run. overall it makes your car faster, and can shave up to .3 off your 1/4 mile times on your LANCER.

i recommend just buying a universal SRI for about $60 on ebay. trust me you dont have to overpay for this mod. But if you do buy it i recommend buying some type of exhaust, because whats the point of sucking in all that air if you cant exhale it. picture this suck in a huge gasp of air. now place a straw in your mouth and blow out as hard as you can. You wont exhale that much will you? so whats the point of inhaling so much? Exhaust can be found cheap but i highly recomment the RRM magna flow catback exhaust, and there high flow cat.

Dude, the entire freaking SRI doesn't really do too much. You really think a plastic tube half an inch high (and followed by a sound-deadening chamber) is going to "pound" it with fresh air?

RRM I believe said they did some tests and found the stock piping actually allows better airflow then a smooth pipe. Although its not much you will notice but it is a difference according to RRM.. I read this in a thread forever ago..... That may be why RRM uses stock pipe in there SRI kit.

He's not talking about that. He's talking about the little "ram air" funnel in front of the filter.

STIslayer was asking about the part in FRONT of the filter (bottom of the picture). Everyone else started answering about the rubber 90-degree piping (which has been replaced by a metal 45-degree pipe at the )top of the picture).

oooooooooh. lol. good call sheepman.

You can customiz that to work or I think RMR sells the kit that uses the snorkal. It would be better using the snorkal either way,.
