Come on, everyone knows the louder your car is the faster it goes. Each Db gives you like 5 hp. The proof is in the pudding, bolt ons just don't do jack on these cars.
Trust me, you are going to get bored very quickly at 5.8. To be honest, When I had the rrm stage 1 turbo/intercooler setup, I didn't even notice that much of a difference. And I am just being real with ya.
I had obviously everything that came with stage 1 kit. It was Gurudel's old kit. Magnaflow exhaust, testpipe, walbro 255 pump, and the turbo came welded to the rrm header to prevent any leaking. Hopefully you will do better than me on the dyno the first time. I got my kit awhile ago, and RRM's site says nothing about having to get your car tuned afterwards. Me and a couple buddies spent the weekend installing the thing (thinking it was just a simple bolt on kit) and my car was running like **** but I still felt a slight noticeable gain so I thought it was normal lol. I then took it to a shop where they put it on a dyno and showed me how lean it was running. Just keep an eye on your air/fuel.

Sounds close to what I got. My turbo is also welded to the header/up pipe/down pipe as a sort of single unit to avoid leaks. I have zeitronix unit to monitor everything (AF, boost and EGT) and I'm going to have the shop go with a more conservative tune for safety. Eventually I might up the boost, it all depends on what I want to do, I might even buy a new car.
Yea same here. My payments are almost done so I might try and sell the car while it's running perfect next spring and get something new, or see how far I can go with the lancer whp wise. I want to start over on something with a better base for tuning unlike the lancer but it's so tough to stop throwing money into this yellow bottomless hole.

I don't have any car payments so it'd be a fresh start for me. I just have to do some things here and there like replacing my heater box, getting a dent dealt with and getting my front end repainted and then I could easily sell it/trade it in for something better. The advantage of something like a cobalt is the mods are factory supported so you can hit 300 hp and have a warranty.
That is really cool about the mods being factory supported. I think I threw my warranty out the window 1 month after I got my lancer. I wouldn't get jack for the lancer if I traded it in. My best bet would be to find a 15 year-old who thinks the car is an Evolution, and sell it to him for 15grand. I put so much money into this car but I could probably sell it for the same amount if it was stock... It's just not fair! haha
I'll admit...I don't regret spending extra cash on my lancer. It's mostly because all the parts I got were uber discounted. Header is from xtian for about $85.00, pistons were expensive but still cheaper than RRM's original price, intake was from eBay, piggyback was from eBay... so really it's not all that bad

At the moment I'm seriously debating selling my car and all my parts for a Cobalt SS. I checked out the site and if I put down a 3000$ down payment (easy if I sell my mods), get 8000$ for my lancer (not easy but who knows) I'd pay a whopping 130$ a month for a new 2007 Cobalt SS Supercharged. With that I'd get a new, 160000 km warranty, 205 hp, LSD, and a far better platform.

your dyno was that depressing lmao.
dude, put on the turbo kit, your car is so much fun when boosted. though i won't blame you if u did trade it in, but cobalts are american made crap.
