08 Wind deflector

Anybody have one of these installed for their sunroof and does it reduce the noise much?

When I have my sunroof open while driving on the hwy, it's pretty loud..my rear view mirror actually vibrates from the noise.

On my old Blazer, I had one on the sunroof, and I thought it made a big difference on the amount of noise coming from the top, and also pretty much eliminated any airflow coming in while on highways.

Once you put it on, hope you don't want to take it off because I have heard many horror stories on many cars on these things. They scratch up the paint pretty badly, so I'd beware and deal with the noise haha.

The truth is often discouraging. That's why people lie a lot.

(I wish I was joking.)

it's held on with 3M trim tape. So, adhesive remover should be able to help you remove it without scratching the paint. It may take some time to do, but it is possible. Make sure you clean the area THOROUGHLY and then use the adhesive remover along with a plastic knife/credit card to gently remove the wind deflector. Removing the wind deflector should be no different from removing the badges from the trunk lid... it's held on with the same stuff... it's just a bigger item.

be careful, take your time, and you can remove it without scratching your paint.

It's not the removal process. It's the fact that you attach the thing to the car, so it's touching the paint 24-7. So when the wind blows on it, it has to move a little; guess what happens to the paint?

If you buy one of these, expect your paint job to get ruined. Just the facts of life.

also leaves a nice mark of adhesive that will need to be clay-barred if you decide to remove it. Hence why I am not getting vent shades on anything that sticks to my paint
