08 lancer iPod cable

How much would it cost to get an iPod cable connection installed on our lancers?

Btw, I have the GTS model with just the regular head unit...I thought all ES/GTS models came AUX ready?

I figured they would, but I would rather not be raped by dealership prices

I believe what they mean by auxiliary ready is the audio left and right (the white and red plugs) underneath the stereo tucked away in the area with the cigarette adapter and the ashtray.

You can connect an iPod to these but they dont give you control over the iPod, just the audio volume.

The mp3 cable sold by Mitsu allows for the iPod to be controlled by the stereo buttons.

As far as price goes, probably only your left nut if you take it to the dealer.

This isn't my Lancer but you can see where the cable is plugged into under the temperature control knobs (the white cable). It doesn't matter whether or not you have the nav system as long as you have the SS package they should be there.

The dealer installed cable does not control the iPod, it's just connected to the rear of the unit and comes out through the glovebox. It's pretty useless considering it disables the front RCAs. Taking it up with the dealership now and they are lost on the 09s accessories and parts.

Are you serious the ipod cable disables the RCA ports? That's something they don't mention when they put it in....
