Yeah I have. I took out the old plastic ones, used a dremel to cut all of the plastic peices out leaving just the frame. Then I used bondo to fill all of the holes. I sanded them down to make them smooth. I then painted them black. Went to the hardware store and bought some steel mesh, cut it a little oversized of hole, placed it on the backside, wrapped the edges around, used a strong glue to glue it on, then put them back in their home. I think the look really nice. I can post pictures if you want.

Please post a picture. I'd love to see this as I really want to do it to mine.

It's not perfect, but I think it's a heck of a lot better than stock.

I have a different front grill but I'm in the process of doing mine today. Cut out the plastic and fiberglassed everything together. Gonna trim it down, bondo it, put the mesh in and paint it. I'll get some pics up later today when I clean it after the install.

I have that done to my car. I bought a mesh grille from accolade back in the day for $50. Don't know if they still make them. I painted the mesh black as the steel or chrome color looked a bit cheap to me. The pics above though look pretty good though, wouldn't mind it not being black in that case

Yeah the total for that project was about $12. I bought a small can of bondo, some sandpaper, and the mesh is actually steel mesh for a rain gutter. I got a roll of about 50 feet for like $5. I'm on a budget lol
