H1=1 prong?

Well i posted this in troubleshooting but no one answered so i am hoping to get a better shot here. I bought a set of 9005 headlight bulbs and a set of H1 headlight bulbs. the H1's only have 1 prong on them, aren't they suppose to have 2? Do I only hook up a power wire to them with no ground? Anyone know?

In IamKar33m's post on how to install the JDM headlights he posted that i would need H1's.

"Material:
- Extra wiring (multiple colors recommended)
- 2x 9005 High Beam Harness
- 2x 9005 High Beam Bulbs
- 2x wedge bulbs (if you're going to stay amber in color 4 if u want a different color)
- 2x H1 bulbs"

^^Taken straight from his post and on a few other posts they all said H1's. I'll have to go look at some 9007's tomorrow. If anyone else has something to add plz do.

I know this, i am changing my turn signals to my parking lights, my high beams to my turn signals and keeping my low beams where they are. I have 9005 for the low beams with some wire harness's. So i need to know if i can just hook up the high beam wire straight to the H1 bulb, with it having only 1 prong i can only hook up the power wire and not a ground wire. Sorry if it didn't come out right before but i am redoing my headlights.

what you saying is very confusing.
if you are installing the cedia headlight,
then your low beam should be H1 and hi beam is 9005
yes you need 2 prong for the light to work.
FYI, you need a hi beam to pass inspection also.
dont screw around with your light unless you know what you doing.
you can cause major damage to your car.

Alright, sorry to be confusing but to make it easier, yes the cedia headlight. I went out and got some 9005 bulbs and wire harness to go with them, then i bought some H1 bulbs like what is posted but the H1's only have 1 prong on them, also i was looking through drummerjun's post when he first got the cedia headlights and his H1's only have 1 prong on them.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...3&page=2&pp=15

that is the page with his H1's on them, the pic is about halfway down and it states H1 above the pic. Hopefully now it is clear to what i am asking.

dood, stop hijacking his thread..

well anyway, the end of the H1 bulb is flat. with the cedia headlights, you have an adapter for the H1 bulb. azyan called me with the same problem. you take out the big rubber thing around the low beam hole. you will see a white adapter with two prongs on them and it looks almost as if its an electrical plug. lift up the metal clip, take out the white adapter, and you will see a small, thin slot where the H1 bulb goes into. put the H1 bulb in.. you may have to force it a little, you may not.. just try to put it in there the best you can. then put the adapter back into place and put the clip back on.. after that, then you can hardwire the bulb with the two prongs the adapter has

if you do have the cedia headlights, then you're completely wrong..

you now have 1 turn signal on the bottom of the light. you have two parking lights - one on the side, one inside the housing. the place where the old turn signal used to be is now your high beam and the low beam is in the same place. just like azyan said, you also have the bulbs mixed up:

H1 = LOW beam
9005 = HIGH beam

to clarify everything.. did you BUY the cedia headlights? or are you rewiring them to use the same bulbs the cedia headlights are using? what you are saying is very confusing thats why
