You're going to try to put one of those ebay intake mod resistor chips in, aren't you? Well, I on;y know that it's one of the two black boxes mounted on the air filter and intake manifold. If you do it, let me know what was involved and how it works.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...highlight=chip <--- Gotta love something that richens out the motor by fooling it into thinking it has a colder intake charge...

Lancer Temp Sensor Chip {blob}

So I am getting the impression that this thing is a rip off. . . Has anyone ever actually installed one of these things ? Did it work? I am getting an Air Intake (carbon fiber) very cool. . . but I also wanted to add the chip too . . . Yes we got it off Ebay and it was the transistor type but I have NO idea where to put it and when I read the directions you were supposed to wrap it with electrical tape? . . . UM I dont think so . . .

I hope the carbon fiber intake you got isnt the one for the 1.8l lancer, the US spec lancer is 2.0 and the carbon fiber tube thing won't fit our cars... just a little FYI..

how did you install this? I am curious? I got suckered into buying one on ebay but like I have seen here, I could not read the directions and what I could read did not say crap about the lancer... I would be very interested in how to do this so I could see what it does... did it change your MPG? I would think it does by making the motor rich.
