Expect it to look alot like the EVO VIII, and all of the 04 Lancers to take the new Mitsu styling cues.

 

yea like the ugly round grille molded to the bumper. as in the evo8, galant, and outlander already take. what posessed them to do this??

 

To be unique. Not to be Honda, Nissan, or Toyota. Mitsubishi, until now, had limited success of "making their mark" in the Import world, and with the exception of the 3000GT and the Eclipse, it would seem that most Mitsus enjoyed a bit of anonymity, and didn't stand out. I personally like the new style, and plan on getting a Ralliart Lancer as soon as possible, and if it looks like an Evo VIII, so much the better. It'll match my wife's Outlander when she gets it.

 

Oh, and also, if that's not enough, if you look at the Mitsu line, rarely did they ever share styling cues, and that made for an un-unified look. Something absent now.

 

yea true. the evo8 is starting to grow on me....even though im not interested in getting one

I like the new styling alot, and I think that compared to the trash that most of the other car companies are coming out with as far as styling goes, that it's about the only good "new" look. Don't get me started on the Retro thing, even thought I think it's gonna be a fight between the new GT Fastback and the Ralliart Lancer for my next car. My muscle car roots are calling, but, my love for imports and sharp handling may yet win out. We shall see.

oh i get it...its the formal name for the '04 with the extra horse, etc. i didnt know they had an actual tag for this car thats been talked about in this thread

 

when are they going to start releasing details on the 04 lancer? i want to get one but if its going to be redesigned for 2004 im going to wait...
