Mitsu is grabbing buyers when they are young and trying to hang on to them by offering a much wider range of vehicles to grow into as they get older. Customers start out in Lancer's or Eclipse, then move into Outlanders, Galants, Endeavors etc as they get older and priorities change. That wasn't really possible just a few years ago.

Actually German engineering is overrated. (I can say this, I'm European and owned german engineered cars in Switzerland).
Anyway,
is german owned, German managed and is already using some german manufacturing techniques...

That may be the case, but I am still in love with the GTI. If they werent so damned expensive (and hard to find) I'd own the 337 edition. Although the VR6 is faster, the 1.8T in the 337 has more potential for modding methinks.
I've been a fan of www.vwvortex.com for a long time, and they had an article about VW adding a larger VR6 to the lineup in the near future:
That would be more than enough to close the deal on me getting a VR6 GTI... 200+ hp in that tiny little pocket rocket

The performance potential of the GTI's in general is pretty awesome.
I'm just sick of hearing about German Engineering superiority when the ADAC (German Touring Club) and German consumers (via J.D. Powers survey, not to mention my own experience) indicate that the German made cars are less reliable.

Look, no offense, but, we've all heard "confirmed" information from people who work at Mitsu with the "inside track." I'll not concede that it's fact until I see that car on the salesroom floor, training or no.

IMO nothing can contend with the overall styling and performance (luxury and sport) with the likes of audi s, bmw m, and mercedes amg.

BMW, Audi and MB do make very nice cars, the BMW Valvetronic innovation is superb, but they still break down more than they should given what they cost.

They break down a hole lot. I had an '86 325es the cost roughly $3,000 a year to keep the car running. It's sold and now I have a mitsubishi. I no longer have to foot the huge repair bills.
