Well I got my AUX cable in the mail today. Mitsubishi part # MZ360136EX
Looks like there is a pretty simple 3 wire hook-up into the factory headunit wiring harness. Instructions show that you need to release the lock retainer on the factory headunit harness in order to insert the 3 AUX cable wires. Once you install the 3 wires into the factory headunit harness, you than push the lock retainer back into place. The lock retainer is what holds down all the wire pig-tails into the socket. Hopefully this will make for a pretty clean, factory-looking installation.
The kit includes the AUX cable, one cable tie, and instructions. However, the instructions never mention the lancer name, only the Outlander and Montero model. The Outlander has the same style headunit, so I imagine this kit should work fine with the 2008 Lancer. Mitsubishi just needs to re-write the instructions to include the Lancer name....for peace of mind.
Anyways, here is a picture of the most important step in the installation:
Here is a picture of the cable:
The bix black box wrapped in foam should be cable-tied to the harness behind the headunit, according to the instructions. Instructions also say to run the cable into the glove box area. You could, however, get creative and probably run the cable where-ever you want.
I will install this cable sometime this week when I get some free time at work. After working on cars all day long, I really don't feel like touching them once I get home.

I was brave enough to tear apart the dash without any information from All-Data or Mitsubishi, and lucky enough my install looks factory. I did not break any little plastic clips or damage anything!
I will create a How-To tonight with many pictures and good information.
Edit: The How-To is all finished up. Let me know what you all think! If you have any questions, feel free to message me.

Well I just hooked my laptop up to the AUX cable in the Lancer, and played a little Need for Speed: Most Wanted. I must say, the sound quality is amazing. There was no static or any strange noises. I'm going to start playing my games in the Lancer from now on! I know, I'm a nerd.
