Temperature control knob stuck - 02 Lancer

Is there a step by step instruction anywhere for how to fix this?
I have to reach under the dash to manually turn it from hot to cold.
Kind of a pain and the wifes *****in..

I'm sure that there is a guide for this somewhere, as it's a recurring problem in pretty much every 02-04 Lancer as far as I know. Did you do a forum search?

I searched and only found a topic where they just cut a bunch of stuff out of the way to fix it then just melted it back in place. No diy write up or anything like that from what my results were.

From what I remember there is a whole climate control gear kit you can get from somewhere.. Wish I had more info for you :S

I read about that on a yahoo questions site. I'm just hoping for some instructions to get the part and install it without hacking anything up.

02-06 and even the Evo's are not exempt...

I had to fix this when I bought my 03 Evo used. The hardest part is the position you'll have to get into to reach the gear mechanism under the dash. Not hard at all. Good luck!
