Hey,

Didn't want to start a new thread for JUST this question.

I can't figure out why after I replaced the serpentine belt on my car that the screw that moves the pulley is a bit cocked inwards. Are the screws that hold the pulley and adjust the tightness messed up? The pulley itself appears straight and nothing seems wrong when driving/idling the car.

hey I'm going to bring this thread back from the grave as it were. I have this same question and problem with a lancer that I just bought. If anyone has any information PLEASE help me. The car makes a squealing sound when under load from the A/C being on, but otherwise when the A/C is off it will squeal when leaving a stoplight.

you need to change the belts. while the belts are off spray carb or tb cleaner on the pulleys make sure their free of oil and everything. did that to mine and solved the problem.

I have because I have it on my car. The pulley is straight but the bolt facing the front of the car is crooked. I think it has more to do with the way it was tighten up.

swapping belts at noon and will be trying a few different things as far as the order in which I tighten the tensioner bolt down....... although it just seems so shoddy because of the cockeyedness, makes me nervous, so liljeff I may take you up on that tensioner if the squeal wont go away with the new belts.
