Mirage / Lancer Compatibility?

Try this.

they call it a release bearing, which is perhaps why you couldn't find it if you were looking for "throwout bearing" specifically.
don't know whether they have "sample" pics or real ones, so i guess i can't say for sure if that is the correct one. they don't even list one for the ralliart, so i was just assuming that was it. i just looked up 5 other mitsu's in various models and years and they all have basically the same pics.

Withouot purchasing it or calling them directly to question i guess we'll never know. A lot of people mistake the 02-03 in having the simple TOB. They don't realize that the slave cylinder, armature, and TOB are all one intigrated unit. Luckily they went back to the simple style with the 04+.
Probably a question that's already been asked, but here goes. Can we "upgrade" to the 04 style TOB with the 02-03s? Or did they totally re-do the trannys for the new body style?
Best thread in a long time!
We should maybe have ninja mod steal the last ten or so posts from the dyno'd lancers list and sew them into this one, there's a lot of good info there, too....

1) The short block is a tad different. The G94 is taller to accomodate the longer rod and crank stroke. If you use mirage aftermarket conrods, you'll lose slight stroke.
2) Both piston head is about flat, but the G93 piston with two valve reliefs is slighly smaller. The more "aggressive" cam profile is the reason that it can climb/use power to 6500 rpm (shorter stroke). 97 cam profile is a bit different (more aggressive than 98-99) while 00+ is unknown (cali spec started to come around . . . lost of 2 HP, don't know if by ECU or cam profile).

"What I do was use the Mirage ECU that limits 6,800 "
Not exactly correct. 6.5K = redline. 6.75K = fuel cut. It has been verified by us for a very long time.
As for the ECU, if you are using a G94 motor, it's a no go. AdamJ39 swapped into a G94 before swapping into a Evo G63T. The G93 cannot recognize emission spec/sensors off G94 motor.
One exception if I haven't read your replies correctly: G94 block + mostly G93 guts = probably able to use a G93 ecu. No one has confimed such finding. I don't see why not since it's using G93 sensors.
As for the G92 pistons, one guy on our board is attempting to hybrid his G93 w/ G92 head + pistons. The guy is in the military (off to somewgere) and has done the measurement. It will fit, but no one else has confirmed his finding.
G91 = slightly different block
G92 + G93 = same block
G94 = slightly different block
In the answer, G15 and G93 are slightly different tranny, but they can be use in lieu to one another.
G15 gears = better sprint off the line
G93 gears = 5th gear is better.
Another thing: People in PR has been experimenting with B18 pistons (slightly different wrist pin location - higher or lower? Can't remember). Both G93 + B18 = same bore and spec to overbore too. No one outside PR has confirmed this fitment issue.

Here's AdamJ39, and his swap of a G94 -> Evo G63T.

I know that the clutch from the 1.8 liter mirage is interchangable with the 2.0 lancer clutch, but I was wondering if anybody knows if the flywheels and limited slip differentials are also interchangeable, at the least i would think the flywheel is too, but i'm looking for someone that has a solid answer before i start spending money.

try a....junk yard...somebody might crash and theyre trany is in tact....even older lancer might do it....if my friend can put a galant motor in his 90 mirage coupe...then yeah i think u can do ur swat its all about how comited u really are..he had one custom mount to make but hes happy with hes T3 turbo set up...he now wants to move up in motor with a galant VR4 motor set up in his mirage....hes from Puerto rico btw...they have a hundai runing 8 seconds on the island...its all about the dedication and yeah u will have to "custom fit" some of the parts...again try the junk yard for cheap parts and try it before u spend more money on used/new parts
