iPod Idea
Thanks. I kinda built this mainly for my O2 connection. I needed a place for it, so I figured that the rest of the space could hold the iPod. I usually run with the arm rest closed unless I'm logging O2. I control the iPod through the head unit.

Sorry man ... I don't think I'll be making another one. Now, a friend of mine is about to start doing a bit of carbon work. I'll run this idea by him and maybe we can make a couple.
oh man... I'm sorry but there is alot of ghetto work in here. I'm not usually one to come in and rain on people's parades.....
Do you still have the ground for your CD-IBII just taped to the metal behind the deck? At least secure it under a bolt or something so it has decent contact. Its not like the little fork connectors to go under a bolt cost more than $.0005 anyway.
Why are you so interested in having the ipod in the center flipped toward your shifter? Aside from getting in the way when you are shifting (and possibly hitting you in the face in an accident), the point of the CD-IBII is that you can just shove it in a glove box and forget about it. Out of sight is also best for lookers with prying eyes. Everything should come up on your HU no problem if you have it set up correctly.
You can tap for power for the CD-IBII off of the factory harness where you spliced for the constant power for the radio (the bigger, yellow wire)... even better since it looks like you used a scosche cable you can tap it for power and ground where you attached the scosche to your radio harness. Keeps things clean and nice!
If you need power from a different source or a switched source you can use the red wire on the radio harness, or you can just tap the wire that goes to the cigarette lighter. If you don't sever it, it will have no issue powering both devices. Fuses are never a bad idea.
It wouldn't be a terrible idea to hack, add a fuse, and solder your radar detector harness under the center console where the cig lighter is also....
Want any other recommendations?
