Gas overflow onto paint!

Just wondering how bad this is and what damage this could cause to my paint. I went to sheetz tonight for gas and the pump never shut off when the tank was full, gas started pouring out of my tank and onto the side of my car! I went in and old them about it and all they did was wipe it off. I told them if something happens I would be back but I doubt anything would come of that. I am going to wash and wax it tomorrow afternoon. Any ideas or help would be appreciated. thanks.

Gasoline will eventually deteriorate the clearcoat/paint but not at a rapid rate. Make sure you wash the spots that were exposed to the overflowing gas and your car will be fine.

That's good to hear, I've heard of people pumping gas (sometimes a gallon or more) all over the side of their car because they weren't paying attention to what they were doing.
