You'd have to rehone... new rings with proper gapping... then reinstall for it to be right. As for cost you'd have to call a shop. For me i only charge about 500 to do that.

Low/lost compression, blowby, broken rings, complete engine failure....

EDIT: Eh, just saw the 1 post when I replied. Didn't realize this had been going all weekend. Boe knows what's up.

I called RossPistons today and described the noise (should have done it when I got my car back). They said the wall/piston clearance might be too big and that could cause the noise.

Consequences:
-oil consumption (could cause detonation)
-smoking
-reduction in compression
All that could happen but over some time. They told me I should not worry about it. Just let it warm up for five minutes and then make sure the motor is well tuned (timing, AF ratio) and have fun. If it will start braking there will be noticable signs. They also told me to check with the guy who worked on my motor (DAH!) if the wall clearance is around 4 or 5 if it's more/ less it's not good. I tried calling him but really I don't know what is it with my number that he doesn't want to call me???
Just like N1te I will keep playing with the motor until it will finally DIE.

^Just when you start the engine. Make sure to adjust the volume. It's really louder when you are inside.

^And the engine bay.

No problem. That's my turbo diesel. It only sounds like that because I use 93 octane instead of diesel fuel. j/k noobs

have either of you guys had a chance to compression check your engines?

Not that i'm trying to worry you at all... just want to know your results.

If you haven't and can please do so and let me know what your readings were.

Thanks,
Boe
