I'm thinkin a non-functional hood scoop will have a huge cD and make lots of noise. It'll look hard-core though

mad props on the scoop. I've seen one on this white eclispe and it looks tight. If that guy put wings on his car and said it could fly I would believe him because with the scoop on top it looks like a plane/car ready to take flight

That is really retarded, what is the point? Cosmetics are good, but at the same time when there is seriously no point to it it's just retarded........ That is a serious Fast and Furious wannabe mod

nah i like it it gives it a rally look thats what hes going for obviusly, now please expalin the reson for our wings/ spoilers we all have on our car the wing is designed for providing down forse for basicly a rear wheel drive car at high speeds keeping the power on the ground now for the folks with the giant evo 7 wing providing lots of down forse on the rear hense lifting the front wheels dont give me crap about gas milage and stablizing the car over 100 if you comonly drive over 100 in a lancer oz then you need help and im my opinon you are a iddiot, for those who have body kits you do relize these are show mods the same they dont make your car faster no handel better so whats the diffrence i think we should rethink our ways, and boyah if u can manige to runa a useable pipe from your roof to your a pillar down into a cai i would deffintly love to see that work that must be one of the more wack ideas you have come up with,

i belive my past post may have come of rather harsh. I was just upset at the people saying why is it there for its not functional when they have so many no functional parts themselves

Body kits happen to be non-functional, and this roof scoop is essentially like a body kit. So, that's the reason why no one should go on about the fact that it's useless cuz it's non-functional.

I agree that it's non-functional so it serves no real purpose aside from changing the look of your car. But what caught my attention was that someone mentioned that if you go fast enough it might cause it to rip off.

Now, I'm no mechanic, but if it's non-functional and no air flow is going through, wouldn't it be possible for the pressure to cause it to rip off?

Please don't be offended by my question, I'm just a n00b wanted to know more about this concept.

I think we should all give props where props are due. It's an orginal idea and he likes it on his car. If you don't like it then it's cool to say you don't like it but don't beat the man down, at least he's doing something different, unlike a lot of people.

just my $0.02

It is non functional, simply means that there will be no air flowing into it. The air will just cause drag, but that isnt a problem cuz he isnt gonna race the car or anything. Also, if u take a look @ the pictures, the scoop is riveted onto the roof's metal in 20+ different places. I doubt the wind is gonna be strong enough at speeds under 100 MPH to actually break the rivets or rip the scoop off the roof of the car. I guess maybe at like 500 MPH that would be a concern, but the Lancer doesnt go that fast

I wanna see pics of the scoop painted (Complete)!!!!

Well, if everyone did something different then it wouldn't be very exciting to be different, would it?

Painted it will look great...I wish it actually let air thru..that would be sweet!!!! OF course you'd have to put in a filter and such, but at least then you could call it functional.
