painted dash

hey guys....well...here is my mostly complete dash project...pics taken at night so its a little crappy lookin. i messed up in a few placed but its all good. looks hot. most ppl won't like it tho probably.....but i love it.

yes i was surprised at how well the blue came out.....i thought it was going to be a little darker but it actually came out an almost perfect match

that is awesome man! what did you use to paint the yellow parts? i have been wanting to do that with some dash parts. i am going to go with a carbon fiber and yellow mix with mine. also did you have to take the whole dash apart to paint the vents?

the blue is SEM vinyl paint Pacific Blue...and the yellow is some company..like rustoleum or sumthing...but its Sun Yellow...i actually have a pint of Mitsubishi Yellow (Y01) but didn't feel like setting up my air sprayer lol. umm...to get the left and right main vents out you just have to push in on the vent and the whole thing will move back..then you have to bend it down and get it out (taking out the bottom plastic piece with the change holder) and it just popps out. the right vent is easy to get to cuz the glove box just opens up. umm..the top defroster vents were east to get out..just gotta get a hook and pop them out.

really rustoleum huh? does it have a nice shinny finish or did you put a coat of clear on it maybe? i just want to make my lancer unique from everyone elses and doing things like this is what it takes. keep up the good work man

yeah its pretty glossy...actually now that i think of it i put a top coat of enamal sun yellow on it..to make it more of a yellow that matches cuz the enamal is a shade darker or sumthing.
