Looking good. Yes, I'm still out here keeping track of you. The lower bar will work, the evo one is just built better with more welds.

Good luck and all but i have one question...
why?
why would you go through all this trouble to have a sleeper lancer when you could have just bought an evo with all the money you have put into this car?
are you in love with your lancer?

Some of us are in love with our Lancers. And some of us dare to be different.

xxchaos i think you have your answer as to why i am doing this also i cannot get insurance on an evo nuntil next year when i am 25 stupid cayman islands rules.

It's been coming along. The car is now on 4 wheels as opposed to being up on jackstands haha. I still have some issues regarding mounting the rear diff and the driveshaft... but overall it's going along great. The rear suspension setup is definitely something to behold...

ok well right now i need some info been doin some reserach but don't have anything positive so here is my question. Is the 4g64 eclipse tranny the best fwd tranny to use and is it the only fwd tranny that will work on the on the evo block? also when you answer this will the evo axles also work with no problem? one more thing does it mount up the same as the evo tranny?

The 4g64 (eclipse) and 4g69 (Ralliart Lancer) both work. They are the same transmission, with different gearing. I think the Ralliart one you have to find a new way to mount the starter. That I don't know. I had a nice idea on a 6 speed that might work for ours. I don't know for sure, but, there may be a way to take the new eclipse 6 speed transmission, mate it to a 4g64 or 4g69 bell housing and have a fwd 6 speed that can hold 260hp. Either that, or take the 6 speed gears out of a MR transmission and try and fit them in the 4g64 transmission. Just some other theories if you want to go 6 speed.

so the eclipse tranmission will bolt up with no fab work? also i am not worrying about going six speed right now i just need to get this thing on the road lol but at the same time my build goal is for atleast 400 hp do you think the tranny will hold up or should i just go ahead and modify the evo transmission to work as fwd?

Yes, the eclipse 4g64 transmission bolts right up. There is also a 6g72 transmission that is rated to 210 hp. It might be the same transmission with a different bellhousing. If your worried about 400. I would find a transmission that holds at least 210 to 280 factory. Here is a link to someone who is building his 4g64 with an evo head. http://www.club3g.com/forum/3g-eclip...vo-swap-2.html Thats how much the motors are the same except pistons and rods. If you wanted, you could get an evo head and use the 4g64 block.
