???Auto Slipping???
well im a tech in a dealership (not mitsu) and in every dealership i have worked in the advisers and techs were pretty quick to point fingers and say "look at all this aftermarket crap, they must beat the crap out of the car and all this stuff must void the warrenty so its customer pay" with out researching the warrenty. so just to be safe return it to stock, I would rather be safe than have them deny warrenty coverage on what would be a very expencive auto trans repair. it may save a big headache
A dealer can't deny you service based on the handy ol' M-M Warranty Act: http://www.lancerforums.com/forums/s...=sema+warranty If they can't without a doubt prove that the part caused the malfunction, they are responsible for replacing parts that are covered by the warranty. Plain n' simple. I really wish people read more...yargh.
Don't mean to make ayone feel stupid ( inculding myself ) but has anyone checked the level of the tranny fluid? If you don't know, you are supposed to check it when the fluid is hot and make sure the car is on level ground. If you don't have enough fluid, then your stuff won't work right. If the level is right, then by all means put your stock equipment back on and take it to the dealer. Hope all works out for you in the end.

Thats why he is a "Super Moderator", so full of useful knowledge.... that pjal.....
Anyway, I second the "fluid" check, since it gets pretty warm in GA and downshifting an Automatic is definately not good.
Best bet is to bring it to the dealership anyway, this site has useful info but certain problems must be "seen" and dealt with directly.
Mods should not be a problem as long as you are very "please and thank you" oriented when you take it into the dealership. Works for me....

Well I put all the stock parts back on and took it to the dealership today. Well let me just start off by saying they are some M F'ing *** holes their, They must think I'm a idiot or something. They tried telling me that my intake had something do with it, well let's just say they lost that one argument quick. Also so they told me that the tranny will adjust to the persons driving so that’s why it dose that, (what crock). Then they said I need to get my fluid cleaned out at 30k which I thought was ok tell they said it would be $130 to do that. Then I talked to the mechanic, which all so blamed my intake, then he said I was driving my car to "hard" and when he checked my fluid it was BLACK?!?! Well I decided to take a look when I got home it was nothing but brown and full, he must be colored blind, no wait he's just a dumb ***. So they tell me to go talk to the General Manager, well I went to do that and found out that he was the *** King of all Mitsubishi. He told me to come back tomorrow when there is more time to look at it, so I said ok but if I come back tomorrow and show yall what it's doing wrong would the mechanic look at the tanny? His reply was no they can't, they have to wait for some DSM guy to come look at it and verify that it's the tranny then they can open it. So my question was how long would it be till he came, Oh that may take a few weeks. So I’m just a lil pissed at them, but I’m going to go back tomorrow and ask the mechanic to see the back fluid, then I’m going to show him that it’s jumping RPMs between 3rd and 4th all in a very calm manner. But if they same one more dumb *** remark… well I’m not to sure what’s going to happen but I’ll defiantly be pissed.
Thanks OZrally

Well I saw that one coming
Like I said most dealers are very quick to blame any after market part on a car for any problem that is wrong with the car. now maybe if you were complaining about a maf code turning the check engine light on they would have a point. however IMO the tech was trying to bounce the car out of there so he wouldnt have to deal with it. trans problems are a pain in the *** to diagnos and fix and warenty probebly doesnt pay worth a **** for the tech, or he doesnt know what he is doing. listen to my advice, #1 treat the rep with respect, dont yell dont scream and dont call him/her an ******* (at least to their face) #2 state your case calmly and have any mantinance documentation with you. (you may want to say "I like this car alot and I take care of it. I dont beat on it and if I am going to treated like this when I have a problem I will just as soon trade it for a
honda and avoid mitsubishi in the future" #3 be firm (once agin dont yell) and persistant , if it doesnt go well return it COMPLETLY (intake included) to stock and try another dealer GOODLUCK
PS if the trans is already slipping a fluid and filter change isnt going to help. (wont hurt either)
