GTS: Liking the CVT
ralliart galant
today i went over to stevencreek mitsubishi, where i got my lancer es 2 years ago.
They had the entire lot full of new 08 lancers, and at least 15 GTS. They had black, blue, champagne, red, silver, grey, and white for GTS. I got to test drive a GTS that had 4 miles on the odometer. I took it down an expressway and took a few fairly hard turns and a quikc u-turn. I played with the paddle shift and found that, true it was responsive, but not as fun as i thought, and i was tired of it soon after 2 stop lights. The acceleration felt almost the same as my 04 lancer, which supposedly had less power. Maybe it was because i live in California, everything was more restrictive than they supposed to. The one i test drove came with a navigation system, and the whole interior was very nice, a major upgrade from the 04 version. The exterior was agressive and looked almost exactly like the concept evo 10 spy pics released a while ago. The rear looked pretty tite, iff only the tail lights were entirely red -_-"
after a bunch of talkie talkies with the dealer, they wanted $20k+tax for the grey gts... they rushed us like crazy trying to make us buy on the spot, took us quite some effort to leave the dealership -_-"
oh btw, i also test drove the new galant ralliart lol... that beast had nav system, eletric adjusted seats, butt warmer, and all leather interior accented with fake carbon fiber trim. THAT THING WAS QUICK! dealer said it had 258 horses or something, i floored an automatic down the expressway and MAN WAS IT FUN!

I like the way u think
If you're one of those people who likes the feel of the car better then that's okay.
But I guess I'm getting old school at 18. I like the CVT transmission alot because it's smoother gives the ride a really, really nice feel. Perfect for cruisin with the ladies, or eating fries while driving with your knees on the interstate with a drink in your hand because there are headphones and an ipod in your cupholders.
I do wonder though, how the Lancer with CVT does on the quarter mile...
But seriously...no shift shock... oji-san desu >>

Yeah I test drove 1 to and its 268 HP and quick as hell but it fell out of my price range but I would bet some one is going to buy it and upgrade that motor and make it a hell of a beast stock 0-60 is like 4.4-4.8 drove the burnt orange love the inside was very comfortable and high tech.BUT I must wait for my GTS more in my price range and just as sweet and high tech as galant + this will be my 3rd lancer 02O.Z.-04RALLIART-08GTS so cant break the cycle plus I have been having wet dreams about what RRM is going to make this GTS do with some upgrades.
i dont think that heavy beast was that quick....
The Galant Ralliart gets the same version of the 3.8 liter V6 engine used in the Eclipse GT sports car; its 258 horsepower rating is 28 hp higher than the version found in the Galant GTS. According to Mitsubishi, the Galant Ralliart sprints from 0-60 mph in only 6.5 seconds.

What I can tell you is that there is not much markup on the new Lancer. Our base GTS CVT has an invoice of $18,241, and a MSRP of $19,115. That equates to a 4.75% markup, which is very low.
OK nice looking car and all but mitsu is in no position to be charging top dollar at this time their brand image is still in the toilet... My guess/hope is the GTS drops to 16K once the Ralliart drops. If the ralliart is under 25K I will get one.
Please explain the logic behind this statement
In the toilet?
ExcessLancer: I have to ask why you would say that Mitsu's brand name is currently in the toilet? I have seen nothing but compliments since I have been introduced to Mitsu...
Furthermore, I have introduced my new '08 Lancer GTS to several people who know cars (as in work for GMAC, and other auto enthusiasts) and not a single one of them have priced my car below 25K. So, I have to say I am VERY happy with the <21K sticker I paid. Of course, the buyer would love to see the price drop, but I believe you get a lot for your money as it is...
