Where the F is my washer fluid going?

My washer fluid is just disappearing, I can't ever use it, as soon as I try I get nothing. I know that before I installed the upper front strut tower bar it had worked but I don't know if it ever did afterwards. I don't use it that often so I can't really give a good timeline here. I know that the upper strut bar has been attributed with pinching the fluid line in some cars but I bought my bar used and it wasn't until after I talked to another Lancer owner that I found out there is supposedly a manual that comes with it to tell you have to re-set your lines so it doesn't pinch. Despite the line pinch idea, I would assume if it was pinching the line then it wouldn't use any fluid, right? Well my entire fluid resuvour is empty after about a day and when I move my car after being parked there isn't a puddle where my car was. Does the line being pinched make the fluid shoot out some other part along the line? Someone who has delt with this please give me some insight on how to solve the problem, and if anyone knows a website where I can get the fluid re-line how-to that'd be great. Thanks.

ok, which strut bar do you have? and have you tried following the hoses to see if they're disconnected somewhere?

I have the RRM strut bar. I haven't followed the hoses yet because I'm confused as to how the fluid doesn't leak out while the car is parked. I'm only slightly concerned that it's spraying all over a part of the car it shouldn't be.

Park the car, try and use the washers, look for fluid.

alright, the line is being clamped by the sway bar, I feel stupid because I didn't bother trying to use the fluid while the hood is open until last night. So hood open = works, hood closed = doesn't work. Is there an informational on rerunning your fluid lines through your hood so it doesn't do this? If anyone knows where it's at I apprciate the link.

No information, but my dad and I did it no problem. The RMR bar crushes them. We just pulled off the heat shield material, moved the hoses up there (away from the bar), taped them in place, and gently put the shield back on. Haven't had a single problem since. I can take a picture if it would help.

I looked at it this morning and was thinking about doing that but it made me wonder if it would still be crushed under the heat shield. Now that I know it works I'll go ahead and rerun it. And a little off the point, can you use the dress up hoses from road race for your washer fluid lines? Thanks for the help guys.

Yes, you can. I forget who, but I've seen a car one here with colored hoses for the washer lines.

Good luck! I promise you won't crush them under the heat shield. Just make sure to put them in the indentation in the hood (you'll see it) and tape them there.

Me for one. It's just hose. Nothing toxic or corrosive going through it. Any air/water lines can be swapped for silicone.
