the other day i went to change my ac control from hot to cold, and the knob thing would jam in the middle, so it wouldnt turn from hot to cold without some muscle. so when i turned the ac on, it was making this odd whistling sound. so i took it to my mitsu dealer, and they checked it out. they took it apart, and it turns out there was a rock stuck in there and it was jamming the gears. im still tryin to figure out how it got in there, maybe from the car wash but mitsu didnt charge me for it, didnt even write it up. well, just thought id share that and get your input on maybe how a rock got in there so i can try to avoid it in the future

 

if the car wash uses very high pressure...its a slim possiblirty. it may just be one of those random acts of god

nah, theres never any kids in my car. well, none that would put rocks in the AC.

 

car wash couldnt do it the rock was in the inside of the car in the dash there really arent any ac or heat things in the engine bay accept for the ac pump but there are no gears in there just a centrifical magnetic clutch

 

if you have in stalled an HU you may have bent or intalled the heater control cables that are attached to the heater box

 

hmm no...but i did have to take my HU out when i got my subs/amp installed. maybe a rock got in there then

 

nothing tto do with rock tose cables bend very easaly

 

no, lol they took a rock out. there was literally a rock jammed in the gears.
