To answer your first two questions, the heater control knob sticks. This is quite a common problem with our cars, and it is actually a TSB. If you go to your dealer and complain about the knob sticking, and let them know that you are aware that it is a TSB, they will fix it for you free of charge, just like a recall. I have had this done to my car, and the knob works much better now. As for the temperature of the heat, this is due to the heater door not opening properly, which is directly related to the problem with the control knob sticking, having the TSB service performed fixed both problems for my 03 ES, and it should fix both of your problems as well. I don't however have any idea as to the cost of the small rear window, I would search around mitsubishiparts.net.
yea mine was fixed before i hit 36,000 miles under warranty as well, oh so was the pin that holds my door open, 2 things gone wrong in two years not bad in my book, and both were free to fix, lancers rock

lol I don't know if this has anything to do with this thread or not, but i remember i went in for service one time (i have a 2004) and i told the guy i needed my car to get the 15g or 20g mile service (forgot which one) so he was like so you have the service plan? and off the top of my head i was like "yep" so i got it for free, oil change and all. when it wasnt even the dealership i bought it from...whats the service plan or whatever?
