HELP _ Bottomed out Lancer
[QUOTE=stickyfingerz03]
The Insurance took care of it. The body shop by my place charged me 1300.
The cool thing is, I made money!
The qoute from the insurance co. was 2000.
I had already purchased a new latch for 35 bucks from Mitsu (trying to DIY) so the body shop didnt have to charge me for one.
The insurance company cut me a check for 2G's.
I took 500 out of that, and paid it back to the Insurance co. as my deductable.
The auto body shop, pulled out the radiator support, fixed down the hood...etc.
Then I got it back and had 200 bucks leftover

I was goin down hill at about 45-50 and hit a dip and the car went flyin all 4 wheels airborne, and I landed nose first...
The hood was stuck up, and all kindsa ****...
10 bucks says you need a frame machine to pull out the pass. side of the radiator support and pull it outwards...
Wow, uncanny that were both exactly as dumb as eachother!

i got no leaks or anything, basically it looks like the tow hitches under the car are just really scratched up, so i think they took most of the blow. unfortunately, the gap between the hood and the bumper is nasty lookin, and i just quit my job so im a do-it-yourself kinda guy now. hopefully the estimate at the body shop isnt too bad, its just startin to rain out here and who knows what the water might do to my engine if it gets too hot down there... so how much did it cost in the end to fix all this, or did u just decide to replace the lancer after it failed to be a true rally car?

If it can't handle dip in the road I'd hate to see it on an actual dirt rally course.

I have actually seen an OZ Rally edition in a pro rally. Never mind the fact that they had replaced most of the suspension with Evo suspension parts and tube framed the chassis though
