A/C wont shut off!!!
Whats going on everyone? As you all have guessed I have an issue. Besides me being dumb... Heres my situation... I was trying to connect my PS2 to my h/u when i noticed some distortion in the picture and sound. So i pulled out my h/u thinking it was some with a lose wire, but it wasn't. So i put my h/u back and now this is where the problem occured when I put the dash back together and turned my car on the a/c and recirulate button got stuck on and i can get them to turn off. Does anyone know what i did? or have and ides of where i should start looking? Any help is greatly appreciated. thanx in advance.
Well the wind finally gave up yesterday and I got a chance to go out to try to troubleshoot. I pulled out the h/u and pretty much had the hvac control box out of the slot. I was look at it and did not see amything abnormal. I checked all my connections nothing seems to even faize the issue I am having. So now my question is should I just take it to the dealer and let them give it to me or does anyone know if there is anyway I can fix it to save some $$$$?
Ok, I don't want to insinuate that i am assuming that you lack intelligence, but even when you call a tech support center for a computer problem they ask if you have it plugged in. So, here goes: Did you try moving the temperature selector knob from max A/C. when put the knob on max A/C you have no choice, it will always have A/C and Recirc on. If you didn't, then try moving the knob to 3/4 cold and then press the A/C and Recirc buttons and see what happens. Like I said, not trying to insinuate anything, just trying to help you exhaust all your options before you try to go to the dealership (yuck) hope I can help
ha ha I wish I didnt try that and it did work but that is the first thing I tried. I call a few shops and they said the samething it would probably be the switch. Now my next question is can the switch be replaced or would i have to buy the new control box? I looked parts for the hvac and only shows i can buy the control box but i know sometimes they dont include the small stupid things like that. I was also thinking which can be bad at times. what would the chances of me getting away with telling the dealership that it just happened one day and see if they pay for it?

Ok for anyone this may happen to in the future... I took it to my dealership and they said it was the control box that was shorted and i had to have it replaced. The bad news was the I was out of my warrenty
... Good news is that they fixed it free of charge!!!
something about a good will. I also got the dash around the h/u and a/c replace brand new and new knobs so it looks brand spanking new.
Thanks everyone for all the help and advice. evom user are the bestest ha ha

i wonder if this isnt the same thing being talked about HERE.
the dealership may just have wanted you to THINK that it was good will, when it could have been a recall and they just want you to come back next time you are looking to buy. tricky tricky.

no this was completely different i had that tech bulletin fixed long ago. knobs work fine it what the buttons with the lights that broke. Both the dealership and shop i took it to could not figure out how they did that. not a common thing for the hvac controler to do. especially the way ours are set up.
