Water??? from where

so i go to my car this afternoon to mess around w/ a new idea for a setup for my system, i remove the amp, and box and all that jazz and look into the wheel well first i notice that i have about 2 in. worth of water in there( no spare took it out the other day) i finally get it drained out by removing the plug, and seal it back up, i start rocking the car a lil to see if there more, turns out, the little vents on the sides of the trunk have water in them too. about an inch worth. wtf. how could this have happend. everything is sealed so idk whats wrong, anyhelp would be useful. anyone else have this problem?

thx

nope, no aftermarket tails, and i pulled back the lining on the trunk to see if maybe the rubber grommet came out, but nope. no leakage from there. never took up my spoiler, never took off rubber weatherstripping. no drilling has been done in my car except for the engine bay so idk what it might be

well, check to see if you get more in there tomorrow, then feel around all the carpeting till you can locate the damp spot, follow it to the source

are your tail lights held in okay? i was missing two little grommets on either side of the tails in my trunk and water was seeping in because there wasn't a good seal between the trunk and the tails before i replaced those grommets.

they were missing because the place that repaired the car when it had apparently been rear ended never put 'em in. this is the last time i just buy a car without carfaxing it. when i had my bumper repainted to get rid of a scrape from the previous owner they were pointing out tons of things to me that would show that the car had been hit in the back. lame.

that's my suggestion anyway--good luck finding the source.
