i just recived my rmr intake yesterday and planning on installing today after school. My problem is like i was messing around looking what had to be done and the black stock air box is kinda hard to get off..so i just woundeirng if any of you who had installed an intake could maybe tell me like what tools you used or how you went about getting it off....the intake came with detailed dirctions..i'm just looking for some advice or pointers before i begin. thanks for all your help you guys rock!
the install is pretty strait foward.. you'll probably just need a flat head screw driver (for the hose clamp) and a metric socket set.. just follow the instructions and you should be all set. Its a great intake.. i love mine! Sounds really nice
Good luck and enjoy! and make sure to ask us any questions you have!

Also, you're going to want to have a set of vise-grips on hand in case the plastic retainers in the stock airbox crack or wear away. The retention bolts are proprietary and will spin the plastic away inside the box.
Since the retention bolts are round (go Mitsu) no socket I could find can fit around the head and still hold tightly. Vice-grips are a must before yuo even try.
You might not even need them, but I'd rather be safe than sorry, driving around with half and airbox.
Good luck to you!

stock airbox is held in place by 2 or 3 bolts I can't remember, but that's about it (once you get started you will see how easy it is). the most difficult part of install is removing the MAS adapter from the factory box. like they have said the plastic that's used to hold the bolts while you loosen the nuts is not sufficient (I was lucky and only had a problem with one the bolts). good luck. There is probably a how-to with pics if you do a search.
