Yup...

Told you it was expensive. And that's not even including the labor.

Did anyone ever get to the root of the problem? We're having the same issue ourselves.

Nope. Surprised this never became a recall.

Well, I'm of the conclusion that the blower resistor keeps failing due to a faulty blower motor, which is drawing too much current, causing the blower resistors to die. Just wanted to see if anyone could verify and speed-up my trial-and-error process.

yes its either a bad resistor or a motor which is causing the resistor to blow.

I'm having same problem. In my case, I think the AC drain was plugged, which caused condensation water to back up into the blower motor(and onto my passenger side floorboard). The water caused the blower motor to sieze, which caused the resistor to blow. I replaced my blower motor last fall. After I replaced the motor, the fan only worked on setting 4, it had worked fine until the motor blew. I ignored the fan only working on 4, because at least it worked. This summer when it was finally warm, I noticed the AC problem. I have ordered the new resistor ($117) and I will pick it up tomorrow. I haven't been able to find where the resistor is by searching online. I assume its somewhere behind the passenger side dash. I will let post again and let everyone know how it went and where that resistor is for those of you that want to fix it yourselves.

Please read that thread (its stickied). It will tell you how to unclog the drain to prevent future problems. There are even pics posted to show you exact location of the drain.

CONFIRMED...my blower/motor was starting to rust, which was causing it to draw too much current, causing the blower resistors to die. Problem solved.
