I'm having the first problem with my lancer and its at 80000 miles. The car wont start. its turning over but it wont catch. i gave it a jump but nothing....i know its not any fuses, i checked them already. im thinking its the plugs, im just avoiding getting it towed to a shop and paying them for something that simple. any help?

Why not change the plugs and see if it helps?

You need 3 basic things. Spark, Fuel, and compression. First check for spark. next check for fuel (listen for your pump, or if you have been starting it for a while and still nothing check your oil dipstick it should smell like gas.), check for compression which i am pretty sure you have cause it's only got 80K on it.

if your oil smells like gas and you got spark, disable the fuel pump and crank it over a couple times to burn off your gas-soaked plugs. then re-enable your fuel pump and give her a start.
