Service Engine light???!?
is anyone else having this problem?? i got an Injen cold air intake and me and my dad put it in my OZ around christmas and its great, its beautiful it makes the most soothing romantic sound i have ever heard i fell in love with the car all over again... but sometimes the service engine light comes on and stays on for a while, and sometimes i cannot start the car, the engine just refuses to turn over
now i know we didnt do a sloppy install cuz my dad is a total perfectionist, and has been working on cars for like 30 years or so, so i know he knows what hes doing... if i take this to mitsubishi, is the intake gonna void my warantee? is there anything else i can possibly do? heellpp!!

did you reset the ecu after the install? Either way try doing it again. Just unplug the negative terminal for 15-20 minutes and hook it back up. Turn on the car (it will rev high then drop down again) and drive around for 20 miles and see what happens.
a few mistakes made by other people:
a) there was a packing peanut in the intake in front of the air sensor or in filter.
b) they forgot to plug in the harness on the air sensor
c) possibly forgot to connect the hose from the intake to the valve cover. (though probably no this)
the ground wire for the oxygen sensor is kind of close to the intake so take a look around and see if there's a broken wire hanging around or somethin.

It sounds like alot of work but put the factory intake back on and see if it still comes on. I might not have anything to do with the intake. I had to take my lancer in b/c of a fuel problem, and I've seen quite a few posts where other people have had the fuel problem too. Just a suggestion. But the best way to figure it out is by the process of elemination.
thanks guys, im gonna go check some of those out, i know its not the ecu thing becuz i disconnected the battery for like an hour putting in the new radio, but ill take a look under the hood god help me
but anyway, does anyone know if it does or doesnt void my warantee??

Check your spark plugs. I had similar issues. I would have issues when running about 1500-2000RPM it would spit and sputter and act like it was going to die. then a couple times the Check engine light came on. It would not go away until I disconnected the battery. I took to MItsubishi and it was showing a Missfire code. He said he couldn't find anything wrong. I put in some NGK iridiums in and the problem is gone. runs great. Check the plugs.
Then again. you said it sometimes won't turn over? check your battery connections. Make sure you don't have any shorts or opens in your electrical system. Did you check engine light just go away, or are you resetting by disconnecting the battery. I don't believe it will go away unless you disconnect the battery or you have it reset by Mitsu.
