Hey guys my lancer GTS smart key just stopped working, I thought that it may have been the battery, i replaced it but it still does not arm/disarm the car, once you are in the car it works the car turns on......

just wondering why the alarm is not being activated by key?

Anyone outhere let me know please?

could be a defective key.... just bring it to the dealer, it's covered under warranty.

When you say it isn't working, do you mean that the buttons on the key fob don't do anything? Or do you mean that touching the door handle/pressing the black button next to the door won't lock/unlock the doors, yet the ignition still works fine?

Do you have the MMCS? If so, confirm that the settings weren't customized by going to SET->Equipment.

 

The buttons on the key are not working when I press!
When I get next to the car and press the black button it works!

So take it to the dealer they should be able to fix it?
