Angry My Stick Melted!!!!

so lets get serious now... K so Ive been driving kinda long trips maybe about 20 miles each way and during these trip i see a regular exhaust temp of ~1450 and my egts read ~14.7 or so. I figured this was normal as I am barely pressing the gas, just coasting at around 60mph in 5th gear. So anyways i opened my hood today and my dipstick was melted onto the dipstick tube...Looked like a melted candle. I managed to pull it off with a pair of pliers and it looks like nothing went inside the tube.
I tried looking for a metal dipstick but i dont think there are any for our cars...
03 lancer oz
16g turbo
rrm j pipe setup
intercooled
wrx 440cc injectors
fuel lab 1:1 rising rate fpr
rpw valve springs
9.0:1 Wiseco pistons
RPW decomp gasket
K1 rods
4g93 intake mani
59mm throttle body
ported head
walbro 255lph

Oh and i DID bend the dipstick to the side when i installed the turbo but i could only bend it so much because after a certain point the dipstick would lock up inside the tube. So it sits a bit close to the hotside of the turbo..... I cant think of any solutions so im throwing this out there for anyone who takes the time to read this. Kinda bummed out and my cars just sitting in the garage now.... Hope you guys can come up with something cuz im all out of ideas.... thanks everyone in advance!

Huh. My dipstick has no signs of melting and never has been stuck or put up any fight being removed from the tube. I also had my dipstick tube tweaked away from the turbo and had a longer bracket installed to connect to the block. I would suggest picking up a new dipstick from the dealer and tweaking the tube away from the turbo and manifold.

Firstly thanks for the quick replies so you remove the bolt first then bend the tube?! Wtf?! I thought you just leave it bolted in and bend the hell outta it. That would explain it. So if you remove the bolt what holds the tube in place?

You need to make a longer bracket to attach the dipstick tube to the block. Simple enough. Also make sure that the bends aren't too drastic to cause binding on the dipstick.

Mine was moved only about 2 inches from its stock location. You only need a longer bracket if you bend it from the bottom and need a longer bracket to re-attach it to the block. Look at the diagram. You can bend it forward from the top bend to pull it away from the manifold and turbo.

you can also try using exhaust wrap or make a heat shield for your dip stick.

^lol. I love that commercial. Hahaha. Oh and im gonna weld a little metal heat shield onto the dipstick tube when it comes in. Hopefully it should shed off some of the heat.
