If I recall, they have to show that the modification (i.e. your tweeters) are the direct cause of the failure, otherwise it should be covered under warranty.

I'll just reiterate what everyone else has said. It's not possible that installing tweets would do that. The worst you could do installing tweets would be to short signal wires together or to ground, which could perhaps blow the amp in the head unit (or other amp if you have one), but it can't hurt something it's not connected to.

If you've already got a history of AC problems, then a new problem with the AC should be assumed to be related to that, nothing else. Unless he can prove that the problem was caused by you an not by them, then it's for them to fix.

I say call the district Mitsubishi rep - this guy is just trying to avoid warrantying it now, but if a district guy gets on him, he'll change his tune. Still though, I think a different dealer trip is in order. I wouldn't want that place working on my car.

My guess is that they can't submit it to warranty claims if they screw it up. They can't get reimbursed if they've somehow screwed up the ECU, so he's passing that on to you. Don't let them replace it until they're doing it for free.

Your A/C.....

I don't know where you are, but if you can find a Joe Auto, I would go there. I am not a vendor, or anything. I am having trouble with my A/C. Joe Auto did a diagnostic but couldn't find a problem. Their charge is $85, but they waived it and said to come back when it had problems again. Very cool. I am not sure they are national yet, though. www.joeauto.com

I thought this thread died a long time ago...... lol, but I had my computer replaced for free from Mitsubishi because I took stevEVO8's advice, called up the national rep, and they replaced it because of a wrong diagnosis. They diagnosed my problem as being caused from tweeters I have mounted in my dash, but with a letter from Infinity, and further investigation, they were proved wrong and had to fix my problem because I already had an outstanding history with my A/C. I had to have parts replaced 4 times before this problem for my A/C in a matter of two months.

Thanks for the posts, but this thread is like 6 months old, lol.....
