Slow after 80 I suppose depends on mods dude. My car is slow after 110 now. But, it isn't as slow as it was stock thats for sure.

sounds like the rev limitter is kicking in. kinda of like going to redline it shuts off. why it is happening speed based and not RPM based i have no idea.

are you an auto? i assume so. there could be a speed sensor off or something like that cause it sounds like your tranny is what is wrong here. TAKE IT TO A DEALER and have then scan it with their scan tool. it may pull something up.

Why in gods name would resetting the ECU fix this problem? It doesn't use a microsoft operating system. Maybe the A/T processor is messed-up but the ECU is constantly reaading and learning to adjust the fuel maps, nothing else.

majik?

well i know that its the ecu that governs my speeds so i reset it and now i can go over 80 it wont just stop there...but it does take a long as time to gain on mph ...now im thinking of getting a fuel management system.

its probably just the driving conditions you had. probably the car or you shifted at a low rpm throughout the gears so there wasnt much left when you got to that point. i mean some days, i'll hit 125, and others ill only hit 85. like one morning to SAT's i hit 120 on accident on the freeway half asleep, then driving home from the mall with 5 people i only hit 78mph. really just depends on the driving conditions i think..
