A short in my headlights??
A short in my headlights??
I just got in my Lancer a noticed that the left light is out. So I turned on the highbeams and it comes on but then it turns the right side off. Anyone have any ideas or help..
Are you using stock bulbs?
Aftermarket bulbs, especially those made by crappy companies could have defects like this, where one filament is wired to the wrong terminal.
If you're using the stocks, it's time to check all connections and fuses. Then, its dealer time.

putting the original bulbs or known good ones in should fix the problem,
it is a double paralell circuit. each head light is paralell to each other and the high and low fillaments are parallel two each other, you porbably have a low burned out on one side and a high burned out on the other.
very common w/ crappy low end aftermarket bulbs

same thing happend to me, if you try putting on your brights with those crappy aftermarket bulbs they will tend to blow up or burn out... i now have the Vision X 8000k HID conversion kit.. its bad ***. ill try to upload a pic soon.
hey i have a question, i bought PIAA bulbs for 80 bucks and just 3 days ago my low went out on the driver side. but ont he package it sez it would last a long time, i think a lifetime??? well, they worked great for about 8 monthes....

contact PIAA and send them back.
also: ATTN! ATTN! when installing new bulbs do not handle glass bulb with hands to ensure you are not leaving any oil on them. this will cause pre-mature (get your mind out of the gutter)

i had the same probs with my gay *** eurolites, one goes out, then the other, really bad. now tho, when i got diff lights they dont seem to be pointed the same, like at night if i point towards a wall, i can see the beams are not exactly the same. i tried taking em out and putting em in better but there never the same, anyone got any suggestions?
it will do that with any high wattage bulb.. upgrade ya'lls fuses.. i did that and it fixed the problem.. upgrade all light fuses up 5..
i see this happen all the time and i'd like to share the wealth of knowledge that i learned in '01 w/my lancer...
