parking brake

I'm going to try this forum...
If anyone else has had the same problem, everytime I engage the parking brake and get out of my car it kinda squeels, or squeeks. You can shake the car from the back and it'll do it too. I don't know what it is, I just know it has something to do with the cable because it doesnt do it if the car is in gear without the parking brake. Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be great thanks

I have noticed my 08 GTS is doing this now. I have 88k miles on it and it seems to have started within the last 30k. Mine is a manual and it does it regardless if i leave in gear or not. I am attempting a four corner rotor and pad replace this weekend and will be curious if it goes away once completed.

Well my brake job was a bust yesterday as the parts i received were not correct for my application. Hopefully i can get the replacement set before next weekend.

Ya, luckily i'm not at the scratchers yet on the pads and my primary reason for replacement was front warpage.

Well chances are if you replace pads and rotors, the problem won't go away. The car has a small set of parking brake shoes set inside the rear rotor. You will want to replace those.

Also if you have ceramic pads it'll squeak when its cold I found out. Or the brakes are cold.
