Quick question

This is gonna sound stupid, but, what exactly is involved in a 30K tune up? Not 100% sure, and if it's something I can do myself, I'm sure I could use better parts than I'll get going to the local Midas.

Plus, I've been noticing a dip in gas mileage and less power... would this be from need of a tune up?

Like I said, sounds stupid, but... thanks anyway.

Aight, lemme see here...

Oil change, oil filter change, rotate tires (duh)
Replace air filter
Replace spark plugs
Check fluids, top off as needed.

That's what says.

I changed my gear oil as well. Considering a coolant change and brake fluid change in the near future. As for the dip in gas mileage and power, maybe get a fuel injector cleaner or engine cleaner? I use them regularly and stand by them.

Hope that helps.

At 30k flush the radiator, and if your loosing power put some fuel system cleaner in the gas tank. not sure what mods you have but....change the air filter or clean it. check your spark plugs and No gear oil is needed. I think thats it.....

Cool. I do need to clean my filter, and I know the sparkies probably need to go.

That's gonna be your transmission fluid. If you have a manual, it's a pretty easy job, much like changing your oil. If you have auto, it's a bit more involved. As Josh said, it's pretty optional, but most of the people who've done it were quite pleased with the results.

My mitsu service schedule says to change the oil, gear oil, and radiator fluid, as well as inspect brakes, joints, and fluids. I decided I could do that all myself, and accomplished all but the radiator so far.

Have any of you guys taken your car to the dealership for service and had a cold air intake on it? Did they say anything about it? I am a little hesitant. Should I be?

Cold air intake and they didn't say a word. They just fixed what needed to be fixed.

I have been taking it there for my oil changes. I figured they know Lancers the best and would do the best job, but they charge a lot just to replace the oil and filter. Where do you all take your cars for basic service?
