Springs question

Hey everyone, i got a set of lowering springs, the dropzone ones. And the other day i went to go put them on, and wAs immediatly stopped by the 19 mm bolt, i think its a lock bolt. But anyhow it wouldnt budge from either side i tried to turn it... just wondering from u guys that have installed springs before, how u guys went about taking the bolts off. i would rather do it myself, cause the mech wants like $270. Thanks for any help!

oh yeah i also printed the how to, off of here, i just cant get those bolts off

Best way to do it is use an Impact Gun. Otherwise you run the risk of breaking the bolt. If you have spares then you can use a Johnson bar and crank on it.

Definitely invest in an impact gun. You'll need it to remove the strut bolt anyhow.

Ya same thing. But I have to warn you you WILL most likely brake bolts. It would be better to buy an electric impact gun or if you have a good air compressor just buy a air impact gun. It would be a good investment. You'll use it Alot working on your car. I aslo asume you are using a proper spring compressor. If you dont have one or are not planning on using one then buy one ($75.00 ish i think) or get a shop to do it for you. It is very dangerous and if it is not done properly then you will get hurt. You will also need to get an alignment after you are finished.

I usually just put a wrench on a stubborn bolt, and tap on the other end of it with a BFH.

It's just as easy to break bolts with an impact as with a pipe on a wrench. If you're talking about the bolts that hold the strut to the knuckle, I've only ever seen one of those break, and that one was 13 years old.
