Keep EVO or sell for Supra

Ok guys. My EVO is definatley pretty heavily modded. I am on my second transfer case. I am definately pissed that the new EVO's all have the ACD which totally eliminates the whole rack and pinion that is failing in the 03/04 evo Transfer cases.

So latley i am thinking....when is my current TC going to go...and after that...what about the next one...

my stupid mind has got me thinking that i am going to have to replace this thing at about 2,500 a pop every year or two...which is not something i can tollorate.

There is a small part of me that wants to sell my car...get an MR or the EVO IX and start the project over again... mainly for relaiability reasons...not cause "i must have an MR" but because i don't want to always be worrying about vital and expensive drivetrain parts.

now there is another side of me (and i'm sure you too) that has always wanted a Supra...i really dont' need to say much about them...except yeah...it's a Supra and yes it has 600hp on stock internal...blah, blah, blah.

I could probably sell my car and pretty much break even on a 94 to 98 supra turbo... hopefully...

tell me keep my EVO...tell me the transfer case is not going to break every year....help me out...

Who says the supra won't cost 2,500 a pop every year. If you plan to own a 'sports car' then plan on paying money to keep it in shape. I say keep the evo because its newer and already modded. my 02

keep the evo...quit beating the **** out of it on a daily basis. The supra will break too as well as anything that is modded. You will remain happier with the evo... of course I'm not much of one for supras anyway.

I agree with the end of your statement....but i drive the EVO maybe once a week and i baby the hell out of it. Not to say i dont' step on the gas here and there....but i never ever launch it or anything like that.

there really was no reason at all for the first TC to go...i had never even brought it to the track before it went on me

Hmm. Its always a roll of the dice when modding cars. Supra is a awesome ride. Very good friend of mine has one. But be ready to shell out like 20 grand for one with high miles. 20 grand for like 70 thousand miles eh... The MR isnt worth it with the IX on the horizon. ACD is great but SYAW is what you really want. Get the best motoring where the rally EVO dude drives the EVO with the YAW. Then you will wait for a EVO with YAW. I Would just keep what u have if the transfer case goes again get rid of it then wait.

Or - instead of buying a "New" transfer Case, just but the RRE/Quaife diff for $1250

oh...damn man sounds like you got one of the weaker built ones or you have bad luck with that vehicle. Sorry for your luck. Hope things get better so you can keep with the Evo brotherhood.

only car that I turn my head for to this day is - supra.

I'll say get it, if you could find one that's TT with Manual, low miles that's not going to cost you an arm and a leg.

Supra suck bro. They can't handle worth a **** compared to the Evo.

Keep the Evo. Besides, Supras are perhaps the most overrated and overhyped Japanese car we've witnessed.

It really depends on how you tune it. You could make supra handle just as well or even better, if that's the route you're going for it.

See what happens is that supra owners go for the drag setup and overpower the turns. But if you do the suspension setup that could equal out the power of the Supra, then you'll be alright.

Remember, RWD handles better than AWD. AWD handles better than FWD.

You just have to know how to drive each platform.
